David Hornik
David Hornik joined Myriad Benefits Agency in 2008. David brings with him 15 years of sales and marketing knowledge of the health insurance and the financial services industry. Prior to joining Myriad Benefits Agency, David was the managing principle of First Service Investments. David’s main focus was uncovering and solving the insurance and financial needs of business owners. Hornik believes in a hands-on approach towards risk management. David has a passion for local politics and has held a seat as a city council representative. David is a philanthropist and has an emotional attachment to the Cleveland Kidney Foundation. Other interests include: golf, boating and wine making.
Joe Turi
Joe Turi founded Myriad Benefits in 2004 and has over 15 years of experience in all three major fields of the insurance industry; life, property and casualty / liability and health / employee benefits. With a concentration in Employee Benefits, Joe’s past work has spanned the entire spectrum of the healthcare industry. We comprehend the "the hydraulics of healthcare;" the fluidity of the system from every perspective.
Past projects include:
- Administering numerous client and professional relationships in the employee benefit and commercial insurance areas with expertise in HSA and HRA approach.
- Managed care contracting between provider and insurer, as well as provider and employer.
- Designing programs for employers in rural counties that assist physicians to organize in a way that reduces costs to local employers and provides more physician control in managing patients.
- Consulted with associations, groups and corporations on employee benefit plans engineered to meet the individual needs of the organization; fully versed in all areas of the benefit design and implementation on a fully insured and self-funded basis.
- Developing a managed care organization; a commercial and Medicaid HMO. Ongoing work included provider contracting, review of rate structure and marketing.
- Assisting in the formation of several large physician organizations.
- Reviewing of statistical analysis for an HMO merger and acquisition.
- Supporting a start-up that accredits health insurers for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Joe is the past President of a local public sector Board and serves in an advisory role to several other organizations. He has been married for 12 years and has two wonderful daughters. Their activities and sports happily consume a lot of his time; from baseball to math tutoring, from gymnastics and swimming to reading and comprehension exercises. Other hobbies include making-wine, cooking, coaching and golfing.
